Would you like to have a mentor that shows you the ropes on Socratic? Would you like to impart your Socratic wisdom to a mentee? If yes to either, what would you hope to gain from such a mentorship?

I work as a mentor on another site as well as being an editor. Sometimes working in another areas makes the work more interesting.

Having someone show you the ropes can make the site easier to get around.

Having someone look at your answers and giving suggestions will make for better answers.

I think that this will evolve to fit peoples needs. I am not sure that there will be a "program" but a place like this.

I think that having mentors is a great idea.

Having a mentor is a great way for a new contributor to learn how to write a great answer.

This would provide an opportunity to pass on some of the "tricks of the trade" that the mentor has learned and allow new contributors to ascend the learning curve a little more easily.

I cringe sometimes when I look back at some of my earliest answers from when I was still learning how to contribute.

As a possible mentor, I would probably get more useful ideas from the mentee.

But best of all would be the satisfaction of knowing that the students are getting high-quality answers to their questions.

I have moved since last August from Italy to UK. In Italy I was a tutor. I've helped a lot of students of every level of study. I am studying the english language and in particular the Maths English language because I want to be in the future a teacher here in UK.
I am "using" the Socratic site to learn it, ... enjoying with the problems of the Socratic students .
I am ready to gain..

First of all - great idea, Becca! This is a huge step for Socratic.

Yes! I would like to know that somebody else in Socratic community, for example someone with more experience and knowledge, is looking at my answers. I would like to be a mentor and also would like to have one.

I think this is a good idea. New people have to navigate the math symbols, posting images, videos, or graphs, realizing they have to cite their sources and so on. Mentors could help their mentees in all of these areas. The sooner the new people learn to navigate all those things, the sooner they'll be writing great answers.
