How do I use a graph to solve the system of equations #y=1/3x+7/3# and #y=−5/4x+11/4#?

To solve this system of equations, you would start by graphing both of the equations on a Cartesian plain. To do this, plot the y intercept first (b), then use the slope (rise and run) to get new points. Once you have a few points in each direction, your graph should look like this:

As you can see, the point of intersection (solution) of the system looks to be about (0.25, 2.4). The only way to get an exact answer would be to solve the system algebraically!
