How many cups of flour is needed if the original cookie recipe calls for 8 cups flour but you want to make #1/3# the recipe?

Before I solve this let me give you an example, I am a Chef and has 24 guests in my guest list. On the day of party 8 guests showed up which is 1/3 of the expected guest, so I am going to use only 1/3 of the food prepared.
In this case 8 cups of flour is needed , but since you have decided to make 1/ 3 of the recipe, you will need 1/3 of the ingredients which is 1/3 of 8 cups flour = 8/3 cups flour = 2
