How are covalent bonds named?

Covalent bonds are named based on their nature.

Covalency occurs when 2 or more atoms share their electrons so that they get they get their octet of electrons.

Now

Something like this

#Mg0# will be called magnesium oxide

#CO_2# will be called carbon dioxide

# H_2 O_2# This is what we call hydrogen peroxide(PS DO NOT CONFUSE WITH REGULAR OXIDES AS IT HAS TO HAVE #O^-2_2 ION#

okay and compounds with 3 carbon atoms are called trioxides..

#P_2 0_5# this phosphorus pentoxide.
