You are probably thinking of radium (Ra).
Radium is in Group 2, the same group as calcium. So you expect it to have similar chemical properties.
The body treats radium as it does calcium and deposits it in the bones
Once the radium is in the bones, its radioactivity degrades bone marrow and causes bone cancer, leukemia, and aplastic anemia.
