How do you write an equation in standard form passing through points (8,5) & (0,-4)?

Equation would be 9x-8y= 32

First we get the slope of the line = `(5+4)/(8-0)` = `9/8`
Now,we can write the point slope form of the line using the point (8,5) as y-5=`9/8` (x-8). Now, simplify by multiplying both sides by 8 to have 8(y-5) = 9(x-8) Or, 8y-40 = 9x-72 , Or 9x-8y= 72-40 =32. Standard form is thus 9x-8y=32
