How do interference and diffraction differ?

Possibly by their definitions:

Interference occurs when two waves of two coherent sources(having the same frequency and amplitudes) overlap(or merge) to form a single wave whose amplitude is greater than any of the single waves.

Whereas Diffraction occurs when wavefronts are bent as they pass through some aperture(such as slit or a hole) and rays spread out.
