How to find the x and y-intercept given #y=x+2#?

The x-intercept is the value on the x-axis where the graph of the equation crosses the x-axis.
For all points on the x-axis, #y=0#

#y=x+2#
becomes
#0=x+2 " on the x-axis"#
#x=-2#
The x-intercept is #(-2)#

Similarly, the y-intercept is the value on the y-axis where the graph of the equation crosses the y-axis.
For all points on the y-axis, #x=0#

#y=x+2#
becomes
#y= 0+2 " on the y-axis"#
#y=2#
The y-intercept is #2#
