The x-intercept is the value of #x# on the x-axis where the line represented by the equation crosses the x-axis.
For all points on the x-axis, #y=0#
#5y=5x+15#
becomes #5(0)=5x+15# on the x-axis.
#x=-3#
The x-intercept is #(-3)#

Similarly for the y-intercept
#5y = 5(0)+15#
#y=3#
The y-intercept is #3#
