How do I calculate a unit vector?

A unit vector is a vector having a unit magnitude.

If we have some vector A and its magnitude is `A` then the unit vector in it's direction is given as :

a = A/`A` and it follows that,

A = `A` a

I have used bold letters to indicate vectors and italics for magnitudes (scalars).
