Osmolarity is the measure of solute concentration.

Explanation:

It is important to understand that osmolarity differs from molarity. The molarity of a solution is the amount of moles that can dissolve in a liter of solution. The equation for molarity is

Molarity(M) = (Moles of solute/liters of solution) = (mol/L)

Osmolarity is when individual particles affect a whole system. In other words, osmolarity is the total molarity that each particle in a system owns.
