How do you solve 2abs(3x - 2 ) = 14?

There are two possible answers:

x_1=3

x_2=-5/3

Explanation:

2abs(3x-2)=14 rarr abs(3x-2)=7

Knowing that abs(x)=abs(-x) we now have two possibilities:

3x-2=7 or
3x-2=-7

I) 3x-2=7 rarr 3x=7+2=9 rarr x=9/3=3

II)3x-2=-7 rarr 3x=-7+2=-5 rarr x=-5/3
