Socratic contributors are volunteers!

Explanation:

We don’t currently hire people to answer questions, which is pretty incredible if you think about it. There are more than 50,000 answers on Socratic, and each one of them was written by a member of our community who volunteered their time and expertise. Our community is made up of people from around the world — teachers, students, enthusiasts — who want to make Socratic the best place to learn on the web. They share our mission to create a free, open resource for the world.

You don’t have to be a teacher to make an impact in a student’s education. Anyone can contribute to Socratic; we love seeing the community grow.

As for hiring teachers one day, we don't have plans to hire teachers right now. However, over time, our product and community will adapt to support our mission , which will never change. In that sense, what we will do "one day" is still an open book!
