The backbone structure is glycerol.

Explanation:

Through a dehydration synthesis reactions, the Phosphate moiety is added to the glycerol backbone. This three-carbon structure then has to two fatty acid (non-polar) tails added in addition to the Phosphate group - in total, you now have a generic phospholipid.

I am not sure what you are asking with the second part of your questions. Which molecules interact with the Phosphate group? The fatty-acid tails? The entire phospholipid?
