Explanation:

Suppose 3 capacitors of values 22 nF, 220 nF and 2200 nF are all 3 connected in parallel to the same DC source voltage of 20 V. Calculate :

  1. The total capacitance of the entre circuit.
  2. The charge stored in each capacitor.
  3. The energy stored in the electric field of the 2200 nF capacitor.

  4. Suppose now that the capacitor network is discharge through a 1 mega 0hm series resistor. Determine the voltage over the resistor, and current through the resistor, exactly 1,5 seconds after discharge begins.

  5. Suppose now that the same 3 parallel capacitors are now placed in parallel with an AC voltage source of RMS value 220 V, frequency 50 Hz. Calculate the total impedance of the circuit as well s the total current drawn from the AC source.
