In a series RC circuit, does the current lead the source voltage?

If the resistor and capacitor is connected to a DC source, then it is neither leading nor lagging.
If it is connected to an ac source, then the reactive part of the impedance will be capacitive overall (since no inductors are present) and hence the current will lead the voltage. (leading power factor).
