Here are the two sentences:

Explanation:

With the quotes:

It will be either #("2 mol Fe"""_2"O"_3)/("3 mol O"""_2)# or #("3 mol O"""_2)/("2 mol Fe"""_2"O"_3)#.

Without the quotes:

It will be either #("2 mol Fe"_2"O"_3)/("3 mol O"_2)# or #("3 mol O"_2)/("2 mol Fe"_2"O"_3)#.

You can save them on your computer to see them properly.

The idea is that sometimes subscripts and superscripts appear to "eat" at the previous character, like you can see with in your answer with the #2# subscript.

Notice that sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, and I have yet to find a reason for why that is the case.

Here's how I see the example you posted for this Meta question

Since it's clear that you're not seeing what I'm seeing, I will have to say that this is a browser issue of some kind.
