Weathering, erosion and deposition are all different phases in the cycle.

Explanation:

Weathering refers to the actual breaking part of the rock or soil. This is caused by various biological, physical and chemical factors. Erosion is the actual movement of the weathered material, ie when sediment flows down a river or sand is swept away by wind. Deposition happens when the weathered and eroded material is deposited and finally comes to a stand still.
