Proprioceptors are sensors that are found in limbs. They provide information about any changes or movement of the limb or muscle. They send stimulus to the central nervous system.

Explanation:

A good example can be the regulation of respiration during exercise. While exercising, a person needs more oxygen then normal body condition. How is it regulated?
The answer is, proprioceptors of our muscles get excited due to movement or contraction of the muscles. They send stimulus or message to the central nervous system which takes appropriate steps to provide required oxygen, like a rise in our breathing rate.
