How does the lymphatic system aid homeostasis?

Lymph is extra cellular fluid which gets accumulated in the tissue spaces. If there is continous deposition of lymph in the tissue spaces that will lead to inflammation of that part which is harmful , that is why to maintain homeostasis lymphatic system drains out the lymph from tissue spaces and pour them back into the blood stream.
