What is the slope of the line passing through the following points: # (-1/3, 3/5), (-3/4, 5/3)#?

1 Answer

When you have two points lets say #A(x_A,y_A)# and #B(x_B,y_B)# the equation of the line that passes through these points is

#y-y_B=k*(x-x_B)#

where #k=(y_B-y_A)/(x_B-x_A)# is the slope of the line.

Now you can just substitute the values of the given points into the formula.Hence

#k=(5/3-3/5)/(-3/4+1/3)=(16/15)/(-5/12)=-64/25#
