x = 0 , y = 7
Explanation:
When solving a system of equations , it is usual to label them as this makes it 'easier' to follow as operations are performed on them.
4y = 28 ........(1)
3x - 2y = - 14........(2)
From (1): 4y = 28 hence y = 7
substituting y = 7 in (2) gives : 3x - 2(7) = - 14
ie. 3x - 14 = -14 hence 3x = - 14 + 14 = 0 and so x = 0.
The solution to these equations is the point of intersection of the 2 lines and in this case is (0 , 7 )
