If a star is moving away from the Earth, its color will shift to in the visible spectrum will turn to red.

Explanation:

In the visible spectrum, red has the lowest energy whereas blue has the highest energy. Since the star is moving away from Earth, its light will lose energy to reach Earth, therefore the light from that star will be red.

This is almost how astronomers figure the distance of galaxies at the edge of the Universe.
