When a substances in the gaseous phase experiences a drop in temperature such that the particles move slower and closer together and it converts directly into the solid phase.

A good example of a chemical which readily undergoes sublimation and crystallization is carbon dioxide. (#CO_2#).

Sublimation : #CO_(2(s))->CO_(2(g))#.

Crystallization : #CO_(2(g))->CO_(2(s))#
