Explanation:
The pancreas is a gland and its endocrine function is to produce insulin, to lower blood sugar, and glucagon, to raise blood sugar. The pancreas has alpha cells and beta cells located in the islet of Lagerhans. Alpha cells produce the glucagon while beta cells produce the insulin. So insulin is a hormone that sends signals to the cells in the body to absorb glucose and is transported by blood.. The absorption of glucose decreases our blood glucose level.
