#(1/2,3/2)#

Explanation:

Call the midpoint #(x,y)#

#x=(-3+4)/2=1/2#

#y=(5+(-2))/2=3/2#

Therefore midpoint is #(1/2,3/2)#

Just another way of writing the same thing:
#P_("mid")->(x,y)=(1/2,3/2)#

Explanation:

Mid point is #1/2# way between given points

Using mean values

Let #P_1 ->(x_1,y_1)->(-3,5)#
Let #P_2->(x_2,y_2)->(4,-2)#

So #" "x_("mid") -> (x_1+x_2)/2 = (-3+4)/2 = +1/2#

So #" "y_("mid") -> (y_1+y_2)/2 = (5-2)/2 = +3/2#

#P_("mid")->(x,y)=(1/2,3/2)#
