Diaphragm plays a major role in respiration.

Explanation:

During inhalation and exhalation the diaphragm will be pulled down and comes back to its original position respectively. When diaphragm is pulled down the volume of the chest cavity increases thus the volume of lungs which allows the air to pass inside the lungs. When diaphragm comes back to its original status, the volume of chest cavity decreases, this makes the air pressure in the lungs to increase thus sending the air outside. Hence diaphragm plays a vital role.
