Insecurity is a primary cause of anti-social behavior. Understanding which level(s) of the hierarchy are unfulfilled will make the counseling approach more effective.

Explanation:

Only when the lower needs are met can one focus on the higher ones. For example, attempting to correct a “social” level issue while inherent “safety” levels ones still exist will not be very effective.
