The Zebra mussel.

Explanation:

The Zebra mussel is originally from Russia but has hinged a ride in ocean going ships bilge water and spread to many locations around the world, including the Great Lakes in North America.

The mussel adapts well to many environments and out competes local shellfish. Liquid fertilizer was used in Canada to control this mussel.
