The nucleus with DNA and the cell itself (cytoplasm + membrane).

Explanation:

The sequence of the main events in the cell cycle is as follows:

  • DNA is copied in S-phase : 1 nucleus contains 2 sets of DNA.
  • After that mitosis occurs, the process of nuclear division: 2 nuclei with 1 set of DNA each (identical).
  • Then cytokinesis takes place, the process of the actual cellular division: cytoplasm and contents are divided over 2 cells.

The last two processes (mitosis + cytokinesis) together are termed the mitotic phase of the cell cycle.
