#x = 6/17#

Explanation:

In order to get rid of the #x#'s in the denominators you have to multiply them over to the other side:

#(3(color(blue)(x+2)))/color(red)cancel(color(black)(4x)) = (5(color(blue)(4x)))/color(red)cancel(color(black)(x+2))#

Multiply it out:

#3x+6 = 20x#

Subtract the #3x# to the other side and add the #20x# and #3x#:

#color(red)cancel(color(black)(3x))+6 = 20x - color(blue)(3x)#

#6 = 17x#

Then divide #6# by #17#:

#x = 6/17#
