Explanation:

Given #y=5x-5#

Select a few (arbitrary) values for #x#, say #x in {0,1,2}#

Evaluate corresponding values for #y# using the given equation:

#{:(color(black)x,color(white)("XX"),color(black)y), (0,,-5),(1,,0),(2,,5) :}#

Plot each pair on the Cartesian plane
and draw a line through the resulting points:
