Why is the renal system important?
1 Answer
The two most important reasons are excretion of waste and excess water, and maintaining homoeostasis.
Explanation:
The renal system plays a vital role in sustaining the health of the human body.
Since, for survival, energy, and growth, the body must ingest and absorb water and nutrients, an important function of the body is to remove the excess water and waste generated after metabolic activities all of which are circulating in the blood.
A build up of these would harm the body and affect all the organs.
The renal system works by filtering out the wastes and excess water through the kidneys and passing this out as urine.
In this process, the renal system also maintains homoeostasis by preserving the balance of electrolytes and metabolites, and by maintaining blood pressure, blood temperature, and blood pH.
