if #(2/3)(x-6)=2#
distribute the parenthesis
#(2/3)x-(2/3)(6)=2#
#2/3x-4=2#
add 4 to both sides of the equation
#(2/3)x-4+4=2+4#
#(2/3x)=6#
multiply 3 to both sides of the equation
#3(2/3x)=3(6)#
#2x=18#
divide 2 to both sides of the equation
#2/2x=18/2#
#x=9#
