Why must temperature be converted to Kelvin but pressure not converted to atm?

Most of the gas laws (such as Charles' Law and Gay-Lussac's Law) work only with absolute temperature, therefore the unit should be in Kelvins.
Pressure measured in bar, atm, torr or Pa differs only by a constant ratio. Therefore, the common gas laws do not require conversion of pressure to atm.
