How concentrated is concentrated acid? What about dilute acid?

Sulfuric acid, in terms of whether it's "concentrated" or "dilute", is defined the same way for all kinds of contexts.

Concentrated just means lots of solute in the solvent water.
Dilute is low amounts of solute in the solvent water.

For #"H"_2"SO"_4#, "concentrated" is about #"18 M"#, but "dilute" is about #"1 M"#.

For #"HCl"#, "concentrated" is about #"12 M"#, but you can find commercial "dilute" versions that are around #"3 M"#.
