RBCs are optimized for carrying oxygen, WBCs function as guards against invading pathogen and platelets are inactivated cells mainlining cell homeostasis.

Explanation:

RBCs contain large amount of hemoglobin n lacking nucleus. Hemoglobin is also known as respiratory pigments because these pigments have high affinity for the oxygen. These pigments work as carrier for the oxygen and carry oxygen to different parts of the body.

WBCs are also known as fighter cells because these cells fight with pathogens (Virus, bacteria, and other disease causing microbes) which enter in our body through various mechanisms like, apoptosis after ingesting pathogen, producing antibody, secreting various chemicals for recruiting other types of cells, etc. WBCs protect our body from diseases and do not contain any color pigment and thus have no color.

Platelets are very important for us because they help in maintaining homeostasis of blood. When we get an injury these platelets help in blood clotting and stop the leakage of blood.
