I hope someone with good command on english language can explain this in lucid way: I would simply tell you that no blood type is inferior or superior in any sense .

Blood type is determined on the basis of alleles we inherit from parents . Other than ABO blood group, Rh blood group is also considered: both are important while blood transfusion is given.

Another important aspect is that when a Rh negative mother gives birth, she must receive immunodepressants to prevent appearance of antibodies against rhesus factor (her child could be Rh positive). This helps her in carrying Rh positive foetus successfully to term, in future.

If we want to see the distribution then we may say that the most common blood type in people of Africa and America is O while it is B in Asiatic population. Predominant blood type in Europe is A.

I would also add that its a mistaken belief to associate personality traits with a particular blood type: rather its important to know that people with blood type O are more resistant to malaria, which makes sense in tropical African climate. Likewise population with B blood type is somewhat resistant to plague.
