Several explanations have been put forward

Explanation:

Some Historians claim that the existence of a London connection (connection between the elite in Washington, New York and in London) explain why such a support existed among Wilson's cabinet. The financial interests of people such as JP Morgan is pointed at by such people( Murray Rothbard, Eustache Mullins) and they claimed that the federal reserve had a tremendous impact on the war by enabling its fiancing.

They base their argumentation on the fact that the financing of the war was possible thanks to the abandonment of the gold standard. The issuance of paper money by the Federal Reserve(which was a Rockefeller and JP Morgan creature) was an essential feature of war financing.

Others would say that the anglophilia could simply be explained by the fact that many Americans had English descent.
