Minimum distance from corner to edge of table is #41.42# #cm.#

Explanation:

The image of the table in the room appears as shown below. As it's diameter is #2m# its radius is #1m#.

It is apparent that distance from corner of room to centre of table using Pythagoras theorem is

#sqrt(1^2+1^2)=sqrt2=1.4142# #m#

Hence, to get the minimum distance from corner to edge of table we have to subtract radius i.e. #1# meters from it.

Hence, minimum distance from corner to edge of table is #0.4142# meters or #41.42# #cm.#
