Explanation:
In the DNA there are codons ( groups of three bases) that code for commands like start, stop read backwards. In between the command codons there are groups of three bases that code for one of 20 amino acids that make up the alphabet of proteins.
The codons are critical in the proper assembly of proteins and the overall structure of an organism. Losing one codon or base in the codon can create a phase shift that throws off the entire sequence of information necessary for the proper function of the cell.
