Thomas Jefferson attempted to speak for all the people of the world he did not succeed in his lifetime but his legacy has succeeded to great extent.

Explanation:

Thomas Jefferson declared that all people have basic human rights that come directly from God, not from human governments.

The Revolutionary war that was the reason for the writing of the declaration of Independence resulted in securing the rights of individuals in most of the colonies. Sadly and wrongly Slaves from Africa did not gain these rights. Jefferson himself did not free his slaves until at the time of his death. Though opposed to slavery Jefferson had loans that were guaranteed by his slave ownership.

The African Americans is some southern states had to wait until the 1960s to gain the basic civil rights promised in the Declaration. Still the words of Thomas Jefferson worked to inspire the transformation of society to meet the ideals of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

People in other nations have been inspired by Thomas Jefferson. His words have helped to bring freedom to many people in the years since the declaration was written. The forces of tyranny and oppression continue to work against the vision of Thomas Jefferson but the light he lit has never gone out.
