Since absa=+-a, there are two equations; one in which x is positive, and one in which x is negative.

Positive X

y=3x

Determine two points.

x=0,y=0

x=2,y=6

Points: (0,0) and (2,6)

Plot the points and draw a straight line through them.

Negative X

y=-3x

Determine two points.

x=0,y=0

x=-2,y=6

Points: (0,0) and (-2,6)
