Are gases denser than liquids and solids?

In fact, gases have densities THOUSANDS of times lower than liquids and solids. Gases generally have little intermolecular forces going on, which is why they are freely-moving particles in the first place.

  • The density for water at STP is #"999.8425 g/dm"^3#.
