Olaudah Equiano

Explanation:

One thing is that he got out of slavery while a lot of others didn't. Another thing is he was educated. He was a slave and his master, Robert King, told him that Equiano could buy his freedom for 40 pounds (around $5,000 today). King educated Equiano on how to read and led him to religion. Equiano then did some trading by himself and overtime got enough money to buy his freedom. So when he left slavery, he had some money and was educated. Quite a rarity for that time period. He wrote his autobiography to try and end slavery. He mainly wrote it for upper class and wealthy elites in Britain (because, you know, rich people always held power back then). His life story encouraged the elite in Britain to push for the ban of slavery, which happened with the passage of the Slave Trade Act of 1807.
