#(4 * 10^5)(1.5*10^4) = 4*1.5*10^5*10^4#

law of indices: #a^m * a^n = a^(m+n)#

#therefore 10^5*10^4 = 10^(5+4)=10^9#

#4 * 1.5 = 6#

#(4 * 10^5)(1.5^10^4) = 6*10^9#

[since #1<=6<10#, #6*10^9# is already in scientific notation.]
