#7/-4 = (x - 8)/-4#

Now, because the denominators for both fractions are the same we can solve for just the numerators:

#7 = x - 8#

#7 + color(red)(8) = x - 8 + color(red)(8)#

#15 = x - 0#

#15 = x#

#x = 15#
