The painter needs #1.2# litres of paint to cover #1# #m^2# of area.

We need to find how much is needed to cover #7# #m^2#

We can solve this by using the ratio

#color(blue)(("Paint needed to cover " 1 m^2)/("Area")=("Paint needed to cover " 7m^2)/("Area")#

Let the paint needed to be #x#

#rarr1.2/1=x/7#

#rarrx=1.2*7#
