Vegetation and wildlife can be preserved only if humans develop policies that place all life on Earth on par with human life.

All the time that preceded the appearance of humans on Earth,life on Earth followed cycles of abundance and devastation. These events were determined by geological activities.
The Ice Ages,meteor hits or volcanic eruptions and tectonic activities had a direct bearing on life forms.Some life forms survived others perished and new life forms adapted to newer conditions evolved.
For many millennia after humans first appeared on Earth,they too roamed the Earth as any other animal species in search of food and shelter.
Agriculture and then industrialization have allowed humans to manipulate the resources living and non-living in such a way that other life forms' survival now depends more on human activities than any other factor.
We now need to formulate and implement policies that prevent reckless and rampant exploitation of life forms that inhabit Earth.
