The volume of a gas is directly proportional to the temperature and pressure within the system.

Explanation:

We assume the pressure remains constant and so if you double the energy of a system by doubling the temperature, then the molecules of gas within the system have double the kinetic energy available to them and thus will move faster and spread out more, hence the volume doubles.

40 Litre

Explanation:

If the gas is ideal then from Charles law,

#V ∝ (t_c + 273)#

#V_2 / V_1 = (t_(c_2) + 273)/(t_(c_1) + 273)#

#V_2 = V_1 × (t_(c_2) + 273)/(t_(c_1) + 273)#

#V_2 = V_1 × [2 × cancel((t_(c_1) + 273))]/cancel((t_(c_1) + 273))#

#V_2 = "20 L × 2"#

#V_2 = "40 L"#
